When the clock strikes, the four characters begin to move to music around the stage and a cuckoo bird appears to sound the hour. The cuckoo is hand-carved and each moving character is hand-painted. A wooden clock face is found under the stage and is surrounded by a circular hunting horn and features stylized Roman numerals and scrolled hands. The clock runs on exceptional German mechanics. Its daily cycle begins when you pull the attractive pine cones down. A nighttime shut-off switch silences the music and sound for peaceful rest.
Note: Clock alternately plays "Edelweiss" and "The Happy Wanderer" on the hour and half-hour.
